Street and installation artist Swoon, aka Caledonia Dance Curry (b. 1977) takes much pride in subverting expectations, from the art world and otherwise. “It’s not like I don’t do things because I’m worried that they would be perceived as normal,” says Swoon. “Sometimes in life you are born feeling like a bit of an outsider. When that happens you realize that you have to kind of cut your own path in life.”
