Allouche Gallery is pleased to present Adam Neate / Madalena. Neate’s compositions examine subjects as he experiments with new themes, all while remaining identifiable to his brand. While Neate has mastered the art of 4D painting in his older work, he recently has returned to 2D painting in which he gives the viewer a sense of dimensionality in his come-to-life portraits of human figures and nature. Neate states: “For this new body of work I wanted to revert back to the traditional 2D painted canvas…I wanted to capture daily life in and around Vila Madalena, an area in Sao Paulo where I live. With such a diverse mix of people in Sao Paulo I wanted to create a unity amongst the figures I painted.” Madalenaconveys the spirit of Neate’s neighborhood, while the use of the acrylic medium and vibrant color raises each figure off the canvas to encourage movement and diversity instilled in this community.
