Multi-media artist David Mach utilizes commonly used mass produced objects and found materials, such as playing cards, to form the basis of his works while repurposing them to create large scale collages and assemblages. These works come to life through aggregated smaller images that meld together to create the whole unit. Mach also creates life-sized sculptures made of coat hangers and figurative heads constructed with color-tipped matchsticks, most notably of figures from pop culture and history. Mach's aesthetic is to depict everyday culture through everyday materials. His work suggests a larger social critique of popular media, but doesn't go so far as to assert a dominant stance.
