Allouche Gallery is pleased to present Eclipse: Out From The Shadows by Jessica Lichtenstein. Her newest body of work captures the fervent emotions at the forefront of our current political climate mirrored in the recent solar eclipse. During this astronomical phenomenon, the moon – feminine – eclipsed the sun – masculine. According to Lichtenstein, and evidenced in her artwork, this act simulated the women’s movement that was born from the 2016 presidential election. She states: “It seemed like a changing tide, a rebirth of some kind.” Her landscapes, teeming with undulating female bodies, form a strong and sensual army hinting at an anticipated uprising.
