The Matt Gold Collection & More: Curated by Matt Gold

15 Feb 2025 - 04 Mar 2025

Matt Gold—a longtime friend and prominent collector of Allouche Gallery—is leaving New York for the beaches of Thailand. As a dedicated collector for over 20 years and a passionate admirer of Pop Surrealism and new Contemporary artists, we decided to celebrate his journey with a special exhibition as he leaves his collection behind. This show features works from his personal collection alongside pieces inspired by his distinctive tastes. The lineup includes pop art legends like Robert Williams and Ron English, as well as striking portraits by Lori Earley, Sas Christian, Sorayama, and more. The result is a stunning retrospective spanning over two decades.

“I started collecting Pop Surrealist art in 2000; It started with the “The Myth of the Proletariat King” by Robert Williams. I purchased it after reading about his show in Juxtapoz Magazine, back when he was the editor. It was the first significant piece I purchased and have since built a collection of over 100 significant pieces. Each piece was purchased because I stood in front of it with a glass of scotch or a prosecco and decided I loved it.”

Join us for the opening reception this Saturday, February 15th from 6-8pm at Allouche Gallery’s SoHo Location.
