Remembering Bast
Allouche Gallery is proud to present Remembering Bast, an exhibition to honor the memory of Bast who passed away approximately one year ago. The exhibition features 26 major paintings by the New York legend, spanning over a decade's worth of work, including previously unseen artworks that were completed prior to the artists passing. These major paintings exemplify the meteoric rise of Bast throughout his career, from street artist to gallery artist, grounding his influences in Pop Art and Abstract Expressionism. His canvases highlight his masterful manipulation of acrylics and oils, along with the incorpration of found objects and materials, created through autodidactic techniques. Bast's place in art history is solidified and celebrated through these seminal works.
